| Original Concept
The alphabet comes alive with original alphabet characters
who engage and instruct children. Alphie and the Alphabets
is a Phonics Learning System, consisting of a musical CD and
read-along, sing-along book set for ages 2-8. Music, lyrics
and book were written by Reading
Specialist, Alayne Sayles.

The Alphie System Includes:

Comprehensive
The program features Alphie, music conductor of The Alphabets,
twenty-six singing characters (Antelope to Zookeeper Ziggy)
and five singing twofers (two-letter characters: Chipmunk,
Sheep, Phantom, Whistler
and Thinker). It uniquely combines the essential
elements necessary for beginning reading:
-
Letter Recognition - Each page has a large upper
and lower case letter for which its alphabet character
claims ownership.
-
Phonics - Songs emphasize letter sounds. All the
character names start with the main sound of their letter.
-
Whole Language - is used in the songs and in the
text. The alphabet characters and "their stories"
encourage kids to think conceptually and to read for concepts.

Musical Phonics
Kids love to sing. Musical phonics enhances learning.
The music is original, melodic and introduces kids to
a variety of styles including pop, broadway, rhythm
and blues, folk, Latino and jazz. Kids delight in singing
along with Huggable Hildy, The Purple Prankster and
a host of colorful cast members.

School Educator Approved
"Alphie
is
an exceptional and appealing entertainment for children and
their families. By adeptly integrating music, rhyme, narrative
and character, it utilizes elements essential to stimulating
an emotional and intellectual response. That's what will motivate
children to enjoy learning their ABC's and reading."--
Dr. Judith Goldston -- School Psychologist, Committee on Special
Education, NYC Public Schools
"Alayne
Sayles writes songs that children will sing again and again.
The Alphie sing-along is an excellent memory device facilitating
the learning process which will help children progress in
their reading skills." -- Linda Watrous, M.Ed --
